Faculty of ECE, Hanoi National University of Education, was established in 1985 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuyet as Dean, the first unit in Vietnam to train ECE teachers with university degrees. In the first stage, the faculty conducts specialized training with the goal of training teachers for kindergarten pedagogical schools, professional instructors for kindergarten governing bodies at all levels, and qualified kindergarten teachers. University degree as the core of expertise in kindergartens and preschools.

After 6 years of specialized training, in 1992, the Faculty of Formal Training (Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education - Preschool teachers with university degrees of pedagogy), the faculty also changed its name from Faculty of Education. Kindergarten to Faculty of Early Childhood Education.

Since 1994, in addition to the bachelor's degree program, the faculty has started training for a master's degree in Early Childhood Education. By 2012, the Faculty had developed a program and implemented doctoral training to create a synchronous training system at all training levels specializing in Early Childhood Education to meet the educational reform requirements of the country. country, creating opportunities to continue learning for ECE teachers, contributing to improving the quality of ECE. From the early years of establishment, the Faculty of ECE has determined that the Faculty's "mission" is to train and improve the quality of ECE teachers and professional managers, contributing to improving the quality of ECE education. education in Vietnam, is also contributing to the training of future owners of the country to meet the increasing requirements of the new era.

Currently, the Faculty has 23 staff members (21 lecturers, 02 administrative staff), including 6 Associate Professor, 07 PhD, 9 MSc, 1 Bachelor.

The Faculty has 3 subject groups: Specialized Department 1 (Physiology-Psychology-Early Childhood Education), Specialized Department 2 (Education of Languages - Preschool children's intelligence), Specialized Department 3 (Physical Education- Early Childhood Art) and office division.

Besides the Dean Board, the faculty has the Science and Training Council, the Party cell, the Trade Union, the Youth Union, and the Student Union.

Functions and duties of the faculty:

• Preparing preschool teachers, administrators, researchers and lecturers in the field of preschool education at bachelor, master and doctoral levels;
• Developing training programs, fostering, compiling textbooks and documents for different subjects and at different levels;
• Conducting scientific research on early childhood education nationally and internationally;
• Advising and consulting educational managers on policies, strategies and plans in the field of ECE;
• Training, fostering and developing a contingent of staff and lecturers of the Department of Early Childhood Education.

Currently, the faculty is providing courses for:

• 02 bachelor's programs include: Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education- English Pedagogy
• 01 Master's degree program in Early Childhood Education
• 01 Doctorate degree program of Early Childhood Education.

After nearly 40 years of development, the faculty's faculty are leading experts in the field of ECE in Vietnam, with extensive experience in teaching and scientific research. In particular, the Faculty's staff is the core force in the construction, compilation and evaluation of preschool teacher training programs and curricula, preschool care and education programs; training and fostering preschool teachers across the country on curriculum renewal, ECCE manuals, information technology application in ECE... Currently, the ECE faculty has organized to compile a complete set of textbooks for all ECE teachers. Compulsory subjects and some elective topics of the training program. Thanks to a rich system of learning materials, students can self-study, self-study, and their basic and pedagogical knowledge knowledge well meets the requirements of current learning and teaching in the future.

The Faculty of Early Childhood Education has cooperative relations with countries such as Korea, Australia, Japan, Belgium in research, scientific exchange, and organization of international conferences on Early Childhood Education.

From the first years of its establishment, the Faculty of ECE has always strived to create the best conditions to realize the goal of training "educators who take the comprehensive development of children as their reason for life and happiness, fully qualities and capacity to effectively carry out the positions of care and education for preschool children, adapting to the changes and innovative requirements of ECE in Vietnam and the international community".
