III. STRATEGIC PLAN FOR 2020-2025
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges and opportunities to Vietnam, in general, and for Vietnam's education, in particular. EduNet, together with AVSE Global network, has strategically planned to consult government, ministries, provincial and local institutions to adapt to the challenges, grab the opportunities and minimize the disadvantages via four core areas:
1. Research and Publishing: This core activity of EduNet focuses on six themes: (i) Higher Education Management; (ii) Innovations and Reforms in Education; (iii) Philosophy of Education, (iv) Education Policy; (v) Global Citizenship Education, and (vi) Teacher Education. EduNet will closely collaborate with universities and research institutes in Vietnam and overseas in research projects on Vietnam's education and culture. EduNet prioritizes topical, groundbreaking and innovative research which promote core values and enhances education quality. The studies will contribute to the development of a high-quality labor force for Vietnam. EduNet's publications include monographs, educational research journals and materials for education development and policy consultation. These publications are developed by EduNet members and partners within AVSE Global's projects. EduNet also cooperates with established academic journals, organizing and contributing to the special issues related to Vietnam’s education.
2. Training: Together with the training team of AVSE Global, EduNet provides advanced training programs customized for leaders of universities, schools, and businesses. EduNet also collaborates with various Vietnam's institutions in training researchers in education, social science and educational management.
3. Large-scale Knowledge Transfer: EduNet fosters the transfer of advanced knowledge to Vietnam via international conferences (i.e., annual VES), professional seminars via social media, and publications in both English and Vietnamese. These activities allow a more direct and broader sharing platform of knowledge and resources for teachers and educators to advance Vietnam's education.
4. Educational Policy and Strategic Consulting: Based on domestic and international experiences, EduNet contributed its academic voice in educational policy and strategic consulting project at all levels, from the government to localities, to sustain Vietnam education, culture, and social advances. The policies, proposals, and solutions proposed by EduNet are considered innovative, timely, fostering the whole-child and people-centered development. EduNet supports innovative education, preparing global citizens with localized actions.

VES 2020: Tomorrow Schools, Future Citizens
In the digitalization and sustainable development age, education in Vietnam has been challenged in many aspects, from policy to management, from pedagogies to methodologies and curricula. In this background, EduNet has initiated a long-term action-oriented agenda aiming at rethinking and innovating education, with the overall theme of "Tomorrow Schools, Future Citizens". This is a platform where all stakeholders will contribute open and constructive dialogues to re-defining objectives for the education of our future generations, modernizing pedagogical approaches and collaborating with various stakeholders in co-producing sustainable and innovative outcomes of education.

VES 2018: Higher Education Autonomy
Since 2014, the implementation of autonomy in Vietnamese higher education institutions has achieved several noticeable results, such as reducing administrative procedures and increasing innovation and flexibility in the university management system. However, there is still much to be done to achieve an efficient autonomous higher education, especially in finance, personnel, enrollment and asset management aspects.
The Conference aims at bringing together international experts and all stakeholders to discuss international practices, experiences and trends in higher education autonomy and their implications for the institutional autonomy path in Vietnam. Representatives from World Bank, British Council and foreign embassies will also participate. This is the first edition of the annual VES organized by EduNET - AVSE Global.
